Interview with Camille Bradfer, HR Manager and GDPR representative at Ma petite mercerie

In what context did you call on Adequacy?
Ma petite mercerie is the first French online haberdashery, 100% digital, which has experienced strong growth following Covid. Indeed, the company doubled its number of employees to meet the significant increase in its sales. It is in this context of both digital and human transformation that we began working with a lawyer specializing in data protection, who raised our awareness of this issue and initiated training sessions internally to get each department involved in this project.
When it came to transforming the trial and operationally getting our data into compliance, and in particular filling out our processing sheets, we looked for a turnkey solution.
Why did you choose Adequacy?
We were looking for a comprehensive solution that would meet our compliance needs and make the GDPR topic accessible to all departments within the company, including HR, accounting, marketing, and customer service. The solution Adequacy presented to us seemed very comprehensive while allowing for real process automation, while the tool's modularity according to our needs was very reassuring.
Then, the human contact with the Adequacy teams during the training sessions and the internal deployment phases of the solution allowed this crucial step to take place in the best possible conditions.
Finally, the reputation for seriousness and expertise that Adequacy already enjoyed at the time finally convinced us to choose them!
What transformation has Adequacy enabled?
First of all, we have observed a transformation of the teams internally, in their understanding and apprehension of digital compliance. Indeed, the awareness of data protection with our lawyer initially, then the training and the use of the Adequacy solution have clearly increased our skills on the subject of compliance and this is a very good thing for a pure player like Ma petite mercerie! The tool is so well thought out and worked that it guides us in our actions and allows us to find what we learned in training.
Then, compliance was achieved quickly, thanks in particular to process automation. This allowed us to structure our data organization and gain greater clarity on the data processed, whether for customers, employees, or partners. Centralizing all our processing records in a single tool represents a real change.
What do you think is the strong point of the Adequacy teams?
For me, support and expertise are the two pillars of the Adequacy teams.
Support with a very close, human approach. We clearly feel that the teams adapt the solution to the company's needs and not the other way around, and it's a very pleasant feeling to feel that your needs are understood and taken into account!
Then, their expertise and their great mastery, both legal and technical and organizational, of compliance issues constitutes a truly comprehensive and appreciable approach which allows you to move forward with complete peace of mind and confidence!
What is your vision of the DPO of tomorrow?
I think that the DPO of tomorrow will increasingly be a key player in the company's strategy, especially for pure players like us.
Already today, the DPO must be multi-faceted, possessing legal and technical skills, while having a risk management approach, and having knowledge of all the company's businesses!
With the acceleration of AI use, it will need to have an increasingly important technological and legal monitoring dimension. From an HR perspective, this is already and will increasingly be a complex profile to recruit and therefore highly sought after!
