The obligation to notify the CNIL is provided for in article 33 of the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD). It concerns all persons responsible for processing personal data. In the event that it is likely to generate a high risk for the rights and freedoms of a natural person, article 34 of the RGPD requires them to be notified.
